Tom, our recovery room nurse, has worked with Dr. Buttner, where he maintains and cares for all post-operative sedation patients, for more than 20 years. His formal training was obtained at the College of Santa Fe where he received a baccalaureate degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He progressed into the nursing school at the College of Santa Fe and received an associate’s degree. He graduated Cumma Sum Laude from both the undergraduate and graduate programs. He has pursued and obtained advanced nursing certificates as cardiovascular nurse specialist; infusion care specialist; vascular access specialist; and conscious sedation specialist. He currently holds certificates in basic life support for the healthcare practitioner and advanced cardiac life support as recognized by the American Heart Association.
During his free time, Tom enjoys hiking and walking with his dogs and flying his falcons in the foothills of Albuquerque. He is also an ordained minister and holds routine Sunday services and counseling. He and his wife, Charlotte, are proud parents of four successful children and they enjoy the pleasure of being grandparents.
Kelly, Sabrina and Janice have over a 40 year combined history of patient coordination and insurance management. They have attended seminars for coding and submitting claims for both paper and electronic formats. Scheduling your appointments for examinations, surgical procedures and follow-up care are also conducted by this very efficient team. They will assist in submitting pre-determinations and reviewing treatment plan financials for surgical procedures. Kelly and Sabrina have specific training and education to assist you with medical billing and coding and preauthorization for all medical procedures. In addition, they can assist you in all aspects of the pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical completion of the administration complexities of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Kelly, Sabrina and Janice are adept at answering many questions concerning dental benefit coverage. These ladies have great compassion and concern for the well being of our patients. You will receive text, email, or voicemail confirmation of your examination and post-operative appointments and a personal call regarding your surgical appointment. Their home lives are busy with family and outdoor activities.
Angela, Nanette and Nikki are highly skilled surgical assistants who assist Dr. Buttner with both office and hospital surgical procedures. They have received training and credentialing from the state of New Mexico and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Angela has been certified in coronal polishing, pit and fissure sealant placement, topical fluoride and dental radiography by the State Dental Board and has successfully passed the oral and maxillofacial surgery anesthesia assistants program mentored by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Angela has been a dental assistant for more than twenty years and worked with Dr. Buttner as a surgical assistant for the past seventeen years. Kelly has received her dental radiography certificate from the State Dental Board and has also successfully completed the anesthesia assistants program. Nanette has successfully completed her state dental radiography certificate. Nikki also has her dental radiography certificate and completed the anesthesia assistants program. Nanette and Nikki have over twenty years of combined dental assisting experience. They are all certified in basic life support for the healthcare provider. Dr. Buttner, Tom (recovery nurse) and the surgical assistants Angela, Nanette and Nikki participate in monthly self administered emergency response training in the office to keep their skills current and efficient. Their home lives are kept busy with family activities and children.
